WOO HOO! I ran my first official 5k this morning. I have gone running many times but never timed myself before. I mapped out a 5k route on mapmyrun.com and then timed it today. I had no idea what the time would be. I stopped running 3 times for just a few second. Had bad cramps in my side. Probably due to the fact I wasn't breathing very well. So about halfway through I started focusing on taking deeper breaths and the cramps stopped.

I know I can get this to be a faster time. It wasn't even body fatigue that I was slow. I think I'm just not used to the technique of running. It doesn't seem very familiar to me, if that makes any sense. My plan to get this time lower is run this route once a week. We'll see how that works.
